  • Inspirational Talk with Guest Speaker Dr Scilla Elworthy Triple Nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize “The World Over, why women are the key to a safer global future”. From 2pm, at Quaker Meeting House, Warwick Place, Cheltenham, GL52 2NP.

Scilla will introduce accounts of women she knows who have made a real difference in the world, reporting what they achieved and the ways they work…. with colleagues, with authorities, and how they deal with opposition. She’s interested in what skills they use, what they were up against, and what we can learn from how they help to make the world safer, in these very troubled times.

Talk will be for approximately 40 mins, and then open it into a workshop to include stories and accounts from participants, relating to women peace-builders in other parts of the world.
